Membership in The Northern Alberta Radio Club (TNARC) is open to anyone with an interest in amateur radio. Many members are certified operators, but certification is not required.
Membership follows the calendar year (January 1–December 31). It becomes active when we have received and processed both a complete application and payment of the applicable fee.

Does membership include GST?
Yes. TNARC is GST-registered and must charge GST on membership fees, but it's already included in the fee shown — you don't pay anything extra. GST # 77183 0031 RT0001.

Fill out the membership application (Google Form). It asks for your callsign and basic contact information, as required by the Alberta Societies Act.

Choose one of three methods below. Your membership isn't active until both your application and payment have been received and processed.

Interac e-Transfer — it activates your membership quickest.
Choose Interac e-Transfer in your online banking.
Send to treasurer@tnarc.ca.
Enter the amount.
In the message field, include your callsign (or name, if you don't have one) and "TNARC membership for 2026."

Yes — bring cash or a cheque to a regular monthly club meeting.

Why would my membership take longer to activate?
In-person and mailed payments (options above) take longer than e-Transfer, since membership is only valid once both your application and payment are received and reconciled.

Both membership types share the general rights of membership — receiving meeting notices, attending and speaking at meetings, and identifying as a TNARC member — plus the community benefits of a @tnarc.ca email address, fellowship, knowledge sharing, community service opportunities, and plenty of fun.

Remote radio access and equipment loans are privileges reserved for Regular Members — Associate Members enjoy the full social and community side of the club without voting rights, office-holding, or equipment access.
